It has a seating capacity of about 2800 people. The hall of the structure is divided into three huge seating levels. All with the focus on the wide stage built in the auditorium. The seating arrangement is made in such a way that all the spectators get a direct view of the production.

The first performance was staged on 3rd October, 1929. It was a comedy show related to golfing, a popular game. The start was not as expected and the first 148 shows show a great set back. It was great flop. Many steps were taken but all in vain.

The continuous flops shows led to financial crisis for the show and consequently theatre was rented for opera shows related to ghost and scary shows. It was followed by silent movies of Charlie Chaplin.

Then came the great break Dominion Theatre London was urging for. Its spacious arrangement was perfect for the preview screening of the popular film Star War it hosted. In the year 1981, it regained itself as a fully fledged theatre. Since then it has attributed popular shows like Time, Bernadette and Barnum.

Its first noteworthy success was in 1993 with the musical Grease. It lasted for 3 years. It was followed by shows like beauty and beast which continued for 2.5 years. And all the other records were broken by “We Will Rock You”. It was first time staged on 14th may 2002 and is still continuing successfully.

The site of the Dominion has significant history within the annals of London. Queen of Henry I. Breweries traced the location in1764. In 1809 these were acquired by Henry Meux. The buildings were later destroyed in the year 1922.

Presently it is located on Tottenham Court Road near to St Giles’ Circus and Centre Point Tower. It is originally used for cinema but at times used for movie promotions, live shows and concert.

* Reduce the number of times you make the movement of the fingers, this is also a better way to start with.
